Smith | Thou mayest.

Here's to making
shit up.

The Annex

"follow the locals to the annex if you want to know where the real scene is." – village voice

Brickwall Tavern & Dining Room's little sister, The Annex is where you go to get away from it all. Our little bar is inspired by long weekends on the lake and the artisanship of Chris-Craft boats, right down to the teal marine-vinyl-upholstered booths and the rope wrapped to read 'Raise Anchor & A Pint'. And while The Annex may serve up the same food and drink as its big brother, it has a personality all its own. Come on in—we're open when the green starboard light above the door is lit.

Brickwall Tavern & Dining Room

"The bar that started it all in asbury park." – new york magazine

Smith's first hospitality brand, Brickwall Tavern & Dining Room opened its doors in Summer 2006 and never looked back. An ode to the working class hero with 24 craft beers on tap, an unpretentious take on American comfort food, and a humorous outlook, Brickwall is exclusively for everyone.

Little Buddy Hideaway

"One of the prettiest bars on Instagram." – Supercall

With a nod to that famous three-hour tour of our childhood, Little Buddy was built with a whole lot of love for all things tiki. Tucked away behind an unassuming door in The Annex, our humble, lo-fi hideaway gets the full island treatment with a thatched roof-covered banquette, old-school fish tank, Frankie Avalon movies on repeat, and a life-sized hammerhead shark quietly descending from the rafters.

Pascal & Sabine

"Beauty, spirit, and exceedingly good food."
the new york times

Pascal & Sabine honors the simple delights of the European brasserie, where good food, warm drink, and friends (old & new) come together to create a rich sensory experience of unbridled exuberance. Taking cues from Albert Lamorisse's signature work, The Red Balloon, Pascal & Sabine embraces the flight of fancy and ephemeral nature of an inflated balloon, adding its own unique touch of playfulness within its doors. Featuring cave-like banquettes and the highly-regarded artwork of Paolo Ventura, Pascal & Sabine is a white string to hold onto, pulling you above the day-to-day monotony of
the world.

"Porta achieves a near miracle – making Italian food, a culinary staple in the Garden State, seem fresh and new."
– The New York Times

First opened in Summer 2011, Porta is an authentic Neapolitan pizza restaurant currently located in Asbury Park and Jersey City, New Jersey. Its name comes from an old Italian proverb about a would-be monk named Martin who was told to write the Latin phrases, “Porta patens esto. Nulli claudatur honesto.” (translated: “May the door always be open. May it never be closed to any honest person.”) Instead of writing this, however, Martin mistakenly put the period in the wrong place, creating a completely different meaning.

The story symbolizes how the details make all the difference. At Porta, we are committed to these details. From making our mozzarella in-house daily to sourcing our ingredients from local vendors, our focus on quality and freshness is second to none.

Upon entering, guests are welcomed by old world nuances and a vast communal seating area, while the centerpiece of the restaurant is the two eye-catching 6,000-pound Italian brick ovens, turning out Porta’s signature Neapolitan pizzas. Eat, drink, be honest.
